Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) took umbrage at Sen. Dick Durbin’s (D-Ill.) words during a Tuesday Senate Committee hearing centered around DACA policy, accusing the Illinois-based legislator of lying in suggesting Sen. Cornyn was not willing to negotiate on immigration policies or support immigration bills.
Sen. Cornyn said Sen. Durbin’s claim was “a low blow,” and reminded the committee of his state’s experiences with the recent heavy influx of illegal immigrants, which continues to surpass those of non-border states.
