Taiwanese President: We Welcome Exchanges With China

At a New Year’s Day news conference, Taiwanese president Lai Ching-te said Taiwan welcomes exchanges with China.

At the same time, Lai noted he would continue to strengthen Taiwan’s defenses, and work together with other democracies.
