Dry air and cold winds can wreak havoc on your skin. But what can you do to protect the body’s protective layer?

To answer that question, NTD spoke to Cynthia Aguilar, a licensed aesthetician with Natura Bissé, who offered her tips to keep your skin glowing this winter season.

“During winter time, if you think about it, you’re always changing from hot to cold, hot to cold, right?” Ms. Aguilar asked. “Because you go outside, it’s freezing cold, but then you go inside and it’s going to be nice and warm. So your skin is always going from hot to cold, hot to cold, and all these extreme weather changes. So what happens is that your skin is going to dry out. But then, of course, it’s going to get also more sensitive.”

Along with adjusting skin-care products and makeup to the colder weather, she said that swapping caffeinated drinks for water can help to better moisturize the skin from within.
