Shen Yun Performing Arts took audience members in Tainan, Taiwan, in April on a journey through ancient China from before communism. Audience members praised Shen Yun for bringing peace to their souls and inspiring humanity.
“[Shen Yun] can inspire Taiwan’s entire society to express its traditional culture. In other words, it can bring peace to our souls,” said Mingjia Chen, the CEO of a swimming pool in Tainan.
“Each dance-drama has an enlightening role and inspires humanity. Their body movements, costumes, dynamic backdrop and live [orchestra] … I think it’s incredible the way it’s done so well,” said Yanzhu Lin, the chairman of a motorcycle parts sales agency.
“My eyes lit up, and the effect of the entire stage was very good. And then combined with the dynamic backdrop behind it, it’s very natural and blends together,” said Ruotong Chen, a clinic director.
“For me, I was deeply impressed, moved, and shed tears,” said Chen-hui Kuo, the honorary chairman of the Taiwan-Japan Cultural Friendship and Exchange Foundation.
Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture and values. Theatergoers expressed appreciation for the values Shen Yun presents and noted that they’re still important for the world of today.
“The messages conveyed by the professionally trained dancers are very strong in my opinion, the spirit of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance,” said Wenyao Ke, a member of the Queensland Overseas Chinese Affairs Advisory Committee.
“[Shen Yun] has a social education effect, like a clear fresh water spring. Using positive energy in this society to show the bright side of life can purify people’s hearts,” said Jishan Chen, a calligrapher.
“Never give up the pursuit of truth and goodness within people. In fact, truth, goodness, and beauty, regardless of culture, are the purest form of spirituality in the common heart of mankind,” said Jian Daming Chen, an academy founder.
Audience members marveled at Shen Yun’s artistry and said they’re already looking forward to the company’s return next year.
“They didn’t say a word during the whole show, but we could feel what they were performing. We knew that this was the most rare thing. They fully revealed the connotation and charm [of the story] with their body language. This is a very rare performance. Every program was performed very well, which is my biggest takeaway, so I will come again next time,” said Yangming Huang, a professor at Kunshan University of Science and Technology.
“[Shen Yun] tells of the profound Chinese culture, the beautiful part, the good part, the true part, in a straightforward way,” said Jinyuan Tseng, an attorney.
“They are very dedicated, focused, and persistent. This kind of energy is very strong. Especially for the promotion and inheritance of culture and art, this is a very important thing,” said Tingxuan Song, the director of the Tainan City Singing and Art Association.
Shen Yun artists present an all-new program for audiences to enjoy every season, including dances, music, and stories.
