Shen Yun Performing Arts is currently on a worldwide tour, bringing audiences together to get a glimpse into traditional Chinese culture from before communism. During a show in the United States, Shen Yun received a proclamation from the mayor of Lake Charles, Louisiana, for their outstanding effort.
Nic Hunter, the mayor of Lake Charles, was deeply impressed by Shen Yun’s performance.
“It was a true show of culture and amazing talent, and it was a great night for the city of Lake Charles.”
“The performers are amazing. You just sat there, you’re just enlightened,” said David Cook, who is the state representative of Arizona.
“The dancers, the colors, everything. I was mesmerized the whole time,” said Becca Fair, who is the owner of Fair Refrigeration, Inc.
“I felt the emotions that they were showing through the dance and through the song. I felt it in my own body, it was absolutely extravagant,” said Evan Watson, who is the owner of Flow Into Yoga.
Ancient Chinese culture was believed to be inspired by the divine. Theatergoers said the message shown in Shen Yun’s performance resonated with them and reminded them of important values.
“I really appreciate the messages. I believe in spirituality and that really hit home with me. I think that through self reflection, improving yourself and just helping out others, it can really improve our society,” said Jarrod Gonzales, who is the associate VP of Humana.
“My biggest takeaway was a message of hope. That the eternal truths that were discussed today will be revealed to everyone,” said Andrew Durda, who is a construction estimator for FPS Civil, LLC.
“Shen Yun does a good job of spreading the word that these people are just trying to help each other live a better life and not give up on hope,” said Dale Jilek, who is the executive assistant at Veterans Evidence.
Shen Yun takes its performance all over the world and brings a new program every season. Many audience members say Shen Yun is more than just a performance.
“Anything that beautiful has to be divinely inspired. The colors, the physicality of it, the ability of the dancers to just work together and to enjoy what they’re doing and to be able to portray the stories through dance was amazing,” said Linda Louviere, who is the co-owner of First Choice Couriers, LLC.
“Keep doing your great work and keep working and spreading the information, the story, and the tales that you’re trying to tell. It’s really important,” said Jenny Durda, who is the director of organizational performance in the city of Glendale, Arizona.
“The beautiful video screen, the dancers, the singers, the live accompaniment of the orchestra, it was just this all encompassing night of entertainment. It was absolutely gorgeous, we would definitely come again,” said Becky Hunter, who is a lawyer.
“Outstanding, I’m amazed, I am beyond words. Thank you for this performance, I would recommend it to everyone. And it’s so insightful and emotional, it was very emotional for me as well,” said Adriana Velez, who is the president at Global-Tec Enterprises, Inc.
“I think that in 5,000 years we’ll still be talking about how wonderful this performance was, and it just really has inspired me,” said Mayor Nic Hunter.
Shen Yun is currently performing in the United States, France, Germany, and the UK.
