Shen Yun Performing Arts brought 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture to Nantes, France on Feb. 14. Audiences are saying they appreciate the beauty of the performance.
Eric Charles Hemion, a production manager at Ligier Group said: “I found myself smiling throughout the entire show. It’s great, it’s well-made, it’s heavenly.”
Dominique Devillars, a real estate consultant at Valuers et Patrimoine, said: “It’s absolutely extraordinary to see. The technical prowess is breathtaking. And then, of course, from China’s thousands-year-old history, it’s an absolutely breathtaking, magnificent, absolutely magnificent spectacle.”
Ancient Chinese people believed their culture and values to be inspired by the divine. Theatergoers took note of a deeper message and expressed their appreciation.
Antoine Devillars, a judicial commissioner, said he “felt this connection with heaven and with divine forces. That’s right. It gives me a lot of emotions, a lot of emotions and sometimes I even felt like crying.”
Véronique Hemion-Bertrand, a wellness coach, said: “I think that today’s world needs to reconnect with humanity in order to move forward. And this show, in fact, is one tool among others to help us reconnect with ourselves, with our divine essence.”
“In many scenes, there are references to the divine, and the divine are called to rescue men on earth,” said Didier Brisac, a professional banker at Fortis Bank.
Shen Yun Performing Arts is touring with eight companies simultaneously around the world and presents new performances every year.
Mrs. Hemion-Bertrand said: “It makes me want to discover Chinese history, and that we are connected to the divine. It’s a sight that nourishes the soul.”
Jean-Jacques Leroy is the founder of JJL Conseil. He says that he’s “amazed by the quality of the dancers, the choreography and the quality of the orchestra. It’s a whole new world I’m discovering.”
Miss Devillars said: “the energy is very dynamic. The costumes are flamboyant. Frankly, it’s a show to see again and again. I’m very, very happy to see it again this year.”
Shen Yun will be performing in the L’Amphithéâtre 3000 in Lyon, France, from Feb. 16 to 21.
