OXFORD, UK—Inspired, outstanding, incredible are just some of the words from audience members who saw Shen Yun’s latest performances.
“I am absolutely inspired,” said Janet Hadfield, company director. “It has been the most amazing afternoon … It is just mind blowing.”
“To create something beautiful, it really takes a lot of effort and to create something like that, it’s outstanding!” said Rafael Jankos, company director.
Simon Schnieders, company director, said he felt overwhelmed by the performance.
“The performance was just incredible, visually and in terms of the energy that came from the dancers, as well,” said Mr. Schnieders.
The audience commented on the skill and precision of the dancers’ movements. They said they felt an inner essence from the performers that was pure and compassionate.
“The purity of the dancers and the discipline of their training comes through so they must be getting that inner strength from more than just practice, without a doubt,” said Kate Taylor, an associate director.
“I certainly got that the dancers were compassionate, and that they felt as though they were dancing for something higher than just an audience in a room, that there was something, there was a higher purpose to what they were doing, that definitely came across,” said Mr. Schnieders.
Shen Yun presents stories based on ancient Chinese wisdom, infused with Buddhist and Taoist spirituality and values.
Eliza Steffens, learning and development coordinator for the House of Commons, has seen Shen Yun before and summed up her overall impression of the show.
“It’s just divine, the same as the stories they’re telling!” she said.
