Shen Yun performed in Venice, Florida for 4 days in March this year.
Audience members were grateful that the show wasn’t canceled due to the current pandemic.
“Whoever put this together is brilliant,” said Mark Manges, who is a financial planner and the president of Skybox Asset Management.
Manges saw Shen Yun with his wife on March 15 and said, “I’m glad it wasn’t canceled either because of all this, we’re wondering about it also.”
“The dancing and the music, they were so coordinated as well. So you can see there was a very high level of practice and coordination put into this.”
He was also surprised to see a live orchestra.
“I thought it was a record or recording. So I was happy to see that there was a full orchestra down there with the timpanis,” said Manges. “I’m a percussionist. So, that was … It’s just perfect. It was wonderful.”
“I was here last year, and I enjoyed it so much. And I was very much looking forward to this year’s performance and hoping that they didn’t cancel the performance,” said Jim Lahrman, a former director of water quality control. “So I would have come under any circumstances.”
The audience added that this performance left them with positive energy, especially during a difficult time like this.
“[Shen Yun] I think could uplift people in a time when people are maybe a little worried right now,” said Lee Holsberry, who works as HR for Nikken International.
“And we need to seek out the positive where we can. Especially in this time, for a positive global message that everyone can share and delight in.”
Holsberry watched Shen Yun on March 14 with her fiancé, Dr. Doughlas Walsh, DO.
“This was certainly not something to miss out on,” she said.
“I feel exactly the same way. We were not gonna miss this,” added Walsh.
“We’re going to share this with our friends, and family, and my patients, and my colleagues,” said Walsh.
