Shen Yun Mesmerizes London Audience With ‘Magic’ Performance

January 8, 2025

With the mission to revive China’s 5,000 years of authentic traditional culture, Shen Yun Performing Arts now begins its shows at the Eventim Apollo in the British capital London on January 7th. Using the expressive medium of classical Chinese dance to portray ancient legends and modern tales, it is also accompanied by a symphony orchestra for an immersive experience.

“Very skilled, very skilled,” said Kash Pelikan, a business manager. “My favorite so far was still water sleeves with the girls. They were, they were superb, superb. And to think they are really, all of them are super connected to each other, and you can feel the energy, super. Very nice.”

“They’re just so professional, it’s so amazing to watch!” said Sami Broekmann, a finance manager. “It’s all the colors, and they’re just … so mesmerizing.”

Desmond Thompson, a business owner, said that “when I was sitting there, I wanted to stop and rewind and watch the dance again just to make sure that the magic was real, and that I was dreaming, that’s the impact it had on me.”

Shen Yun draws from China’s rich cultural heritage, a culture said to be divinely inspired, to share positive lessons with the world.

“It’s very nice. It’s, we are able to learn something, and that is inaccessible for most of the people,” Kash Pelikan said.

“I like the fact that it’s based from before communism, and quite interested in the concept of the spiritualism behind it,” according to Joe Naggie, a real estate business owner. “I appreciated the approach, and how they delivered it, and a number of the key things that they said, which are quite spiritual.”

“I’ve seen many shows around the world, and you know there’s nothing like this,” said Mr. Thompson. “It’s got to be in your, in your bucket list, before you kick the bucket you’ve got to actually see this show. Prepare you for the next universe.”

Shows in London continue through to Jan. 12.
