After seven performances in six days, Shen Yun completed its tour in the Dominican Republic.
“It has been an incredible show, I was quite surprised by the coordination–it’s impressive! The way they coordinate the movements in a unanimous way, that’s what impressed me the most!” said César Rodríguez, a company CEO.
“The beauty of the dancers, the formal perfection, the balance of the movements, the aesthetic quality of the music,” said columnist Ingrid González De Rodriguez. “I was particularly impressed by the very modern technology used, which allows the virtual stage to be integrated with the bodies of the dancers.”
Shen Yun is a New York-based company dedicated to reviving traditional Chinese culture through dance and music.
“To transmit a beautiful message through dance, but at the same time a message of hope, of faith. [It’s a message] that great changes can be achieved through theater and culture,” said Rodríguez.
“I was impressed that [the show] was full of spirituality. The soprano sang a tribute, a worship to God. That was impressive,” said Marieta Díaz, who is a director of education in the province of Santiago. “The soprano’s part, the pianist’s part, all these parts of the music, the orchestra, and the arts … to really include God in art, for me it was impressive.”
“I was really surprised because the show was masterful,” said businessman Dr. Gregorio Guzmán.”You’re filled with satisfaction when you see the staging, the demonstrations of [Chinese] dance and the technology used.”
“In addition, the professionalism of those young guys, very young but they are truly professional. Actually, here in Cibao we feel proud and grateful that you have brought such an exceptional show to our small homeland of Santiago,” he added.
