President of TV Libertés Says Shen Yun is ‘Diverse,’ ‘Lively,’ and ‘Authentic’

Audiences in France’s Lavender Capital, Aix-en-Provence laud the ongoing shows of Shen Yun Performing Arts for their remarkable artistic sensibility and profound spiritual essence. A highlight for the city’s winter season, Shen Yun’s performances dazzle theatregoers with its stunning revival of 5,000 years of Chinese culture and beauty.

Philippe Milliau, president of TV Libertés, said: “I came here to experience this vast Chinese civilization.”

“The artistic level is very refined, which is not surprising coming from this timeless China. It is extremely sophisticated, nuanced, and possesses a remarkable sensitivity that is linked to artistic, auditory, and visual sensibilities. And it’s this ensemble that I find so remarkable,” said Mr. Milliau.

Christian Chenier, general manager of several construction companies, said: “For me, this touched me deeply because I am very attached to traditions. I am very attached to certain things that give life its meaning, and I found again this desire to live. It moved me enormously.”

A special feature of Shen Yun’s stagecraft is the innovative 3D projection, which allows for the portrayal of infinitely vast realms and seamless interaction with stage performers.

“The modern techniques used in these performances contribute, in my view, rather than detract, to this sense of the divine,” said Mr. Milliau.

“I find it very diverse. It feels very lively. I find it very authentic, and I really enjoy it,” said Mr. Milliau.

The two company directors also expressed their admiration for Shen Yun’s spiritual essence.

“This is what we also try to preserve in our own way—kindness, reaching out to others, being altruistic, all those things that make up the essence of the world,” said Mr. Chenier.

“It can bring a sense of universality that no longer especially exists in the world. And I believe what is extraordinary in this … there is a message being conveyed, an extraordinary message of joy, a desire to bring happiness to others, and to teach us not to disconnect from the past. Because it is with the lights of the past that we move forward into the future,” said Mr. Chenier.

“I believe it is crucial that all the world’s cultures, in their richness, diversity, and relevance, should be able to express themselves. And the connection to the divine is a significant aspect of this expression,” said Mr. Milliau.

Lastly, Mr. Milliau stressed: “I think this is the conclusion I reach. If these performances, these cultures, this human munificence, this talent, this artistic sense, this dedication of all the artists did not exist, we would be hardly better than the dust of a desert.”
