An award-winning dancer and an instructor, Rosalie Jones, was left in awe after seeing Shen Yun in Rochester, New York and was pleasantly surprised by the whole production.
“It was just world-class. Amazing. Astonishing even,” said Jones, who is also the artistic director of her own dance company.
“I can’t say enough about it. That’s why I didn’t want to leave the theatre right away because you don’t want to … You’ve been taken into another world with this performance,” she added.
For three months, with seven equally large companies, Shen Yun has been traveling around the world and inspired many.
Sophie York is a successful lawyer, author, and speaker.
She saw Shen Yun with her family in Sydney, Australia, and was deeply moved by the performance.
“The whole thing is just a feast for the senses. It’s very kind of ecstatic and it’s very powerful and very passionate and very moving,” said York.
“The music is so incredible, but dancing is just magnificent. It’s magical. But also, it’s a spiritual element as well,” she added.
She especially likes the tenor segment, “You could tell that this tenor, this gentleman just put his heart and soul into it. He meant it. It was very powerful, very magnificent.”
York expresses her deepest gratitude to the artistic director for sharing the beauty and values of ancient Chinese culture with the world.
“You are sharing your heart with all of us, it’s very brave what you’re doing it. There’s so much courage there and so much artistry, but also there’s so much passion and determination as well,” said York. “It’s really admirable.”
“And all those people, all those dancers, all the participants, they get it. They all are giving their best to this and that is very wonderful. That’s palpable, you can feel it. It’s beautiful. It’s visceral the experience.”
