Shen Yun Performing Arts has finished its tour in the Dominican Republic. Great artists from the Caribbean country were in attendance and shared their reactions to Shen Yun with NTD.
“I enjoyed the whole evening,” said José Antonio Molina, musical director of National Symphony Orchestra of the Dominican Republic. “Above all, I am impressed by the refined technique, plus the production effects, simply wonderful. I really congratulate you,”
As a musician himself, Mr. Molina especially liked Shen Yun’s unique orchestra that accompanied the vibrant colors of the dancers on stage.
“Magnificent indeed, a beautiful impression. I think it is an unprecedented contribution to the culture of our country, something very fresh, very novel.
“In the realm of my profession, it is very interesting how to combine the sounds of a traditional orchestra with ethnic, folkloric elements, and instruments from China. So I am very happy and above all, very grateful to bring a show of this level to the Dominican Republic,” he added.
Shen Yun Performing Arts is based in New York. Its mission is to revive 5,000 years of ancient Chinese culture.
Ms. Josefina Miniño is a professional dancer of folklore and classical ballet, and the former director of the national folkloric ballet. She said that Shen Yun is one of the “great wonders that art has around the world.”
“I’m still waking up from this dream, from this show that I’m watching today,” Miniño said. “It’s really all this choreography, this contrast of colors, this contrast of all this skill, of all these movements, of this theme, really of everything that is their tradition.”
“I’m still waking up, as I said just now, from a magical night!”
