In recent months, The New York Times has published seven articles criticizing Shen Yun Performing Arts, a New York-based classical Chinese dance company dedicated to showcasing China before communism. The articles coincide with a leaked document from the highest level of the Chinese Communist Party outlining plans to eradicate the spiritual practice of Falun Gong and organizations established by its practitioners abroad.
Shen Yun, in response to the articles, says the misleading reporting disregards ongoing human rights abuses in China, and belittles the faith of tens of millions across China and around the world.
