American rapper Travis Scott was arrested in Paris early morning on Aug. 9. Scott allegedly got into an altercation with a security guard, according to local authorities.
The Paris public prosecutor’s office released a statement confirming the arrest of a man “nicknamed Travis Scott for violence against a security guard” at the Georges V hotel after police were alerted to the incident at around 5 p.m. local time.
The altercation allegedly involved a hotel security guard, who intervened in a fight Scott had with his own bodyguard, according to the statement. Scott was then arrested for “violence against another person,” a police spokesman said.
An investigation into the incident is currently being conducted.
The rapper was in the city for the Paris Olympics. The night before the incident he watched the men’s basketball semi-final, in which the United States beat Serbia.
Scott, whose real name is Jacques Webster, has released more than 100 songs that made the Billboard Hot 100, making him a well-known personality in the industry. Among his chart-topping singles are “Highest in the Room,” “The Scotts,” and “Franchise.”
He was previously in a relationship with media personality and businesswoman Kylie Jenner, with whom he has two children.
Scott was previously arrested in June for being drunk and disorderly after allegedly trespassing on a yacht in Miami Beach, Florida, according to local police.
NTD could not immediately reach Scott’s representatives for comment.
