New York City Mayor Eric Adams says he “will continue to do the job,” telling reporters during a Thursday press conference that he will not resign amid controversies surrounding him and his administration.
Adams was indicted on Thursday on charges alleging that he took illegal campaign contributions and bribes from foreign nationals in exchange for favors, including helping Turkish officials obtain fire safety approvals for a new diplomatic building in the city.
FBI agents seized Adams’s phone early Thursday, just hours before the indictment was made public.
