Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) is calling for the public release of additional information about the Hemisphere Project.
In a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, Mr. Wyden described the program as a surveillance operation in which the White House pays AT&T to provide all federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies with the ability to request searches of trillions of domestic phone records dating as far back as 1987—and often without a warrant.
