Former President Donald Trump has asked a Michigan court to declare that the local Secretary of State has no right to ban him from the state ballot in the 2024 presidential race. In the case, the prosecution is pointing to the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which bars a citizen from holding office if they have engaged in “insurrection or rebellion” against the United States “or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.”
The White House confirmed on Oct. 31 that President Joe Biden will meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in San Francisco on the sidelines of the APEC summit in mid-November. The meeting will mark their first face-to-face talks in almost a year.
