The Israeli military said on Thursday that it hit Hezbollah infrastructure and a weapons storage facility in southern Lebanon overnight. Israel’s defense minister declared the start of a “new phase” of the war as the country redirects its focus toward the northern front against Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon.
Heightened security measures were in place as former President Donald Trump held a rally in New York on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris addressed a Hispanic leadership conference in Washington.
The Senate will prepare temporary spending legislation to prevent a partial government shutdown at the end of the month, said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.). He said lawmakers will spend the next few days trying to find a deal that both Republicans and Democrats can support.
