New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan on Friday postponed sentencing in President-elect Donald Trump’s business records case indefinitely in light of Trump’s election win. Merchan also granted Trump’s request to file a motion to dismiss the case, giving his team until Dec. 2 to submit paperwork.
A second powerful storm is on track to hit the Pacific Northwest on Friday, bringing strong winds and heavy rain. The storm is threatening a region still dealing with hundreds of thousands of power outages from an earlier storm this week.
NATO and Ukraine will hold emergency talks next Tuesday after Russia attacked a central Ukrainian city with an experimental, hypersonic ballistic missile on Thursday. Ukraine’s parliament canceled a session as security was tightened following Russia’s launch of the intermediate-range Oreshnik missile.
