The Wisconsin Supreme Court issued a ruling on Friday to reinstate the use of unstaffed drop boxes ahead of the 2024 election. The 4–3 decision reverses Wisconsin’s prohibition of unmanned drop boxes that took effect in 2022.

An unusually long heat wave is intensifying along the West Coast, with no relief expected until the middle of next week. California, Oregon, Washington state, Nevada, and Arizona are bracing for sweltering temperatures well into the 100s and 110s.
