A Russian court yesterday sentenced an American citizen to nearly seven years in prison. 72-year-old Stephen James Hubbard was convicted on charges of serving as a mercenary for Ukraine. Russian media reported that Hubbard pleaded guilty. But his family questioned the confession. They told Reuters he held pro-Russian views and was unlikely to have taken up weapons at his age.
