In the Pacific Northwest, a series of atmospheric rivers are responsible for severe weather hitting the area, threatening major travel delays this weekend. Strong thunderstorms are expected in the South with tornadoes and hail from Louisiana to Alabama, while the West will face strong winds, rain, and mountain snow. Nearly 800 flights were canceled across the United States on Thursday, with more cancellations expected on Friday. The severe weather comes as record numbers of people are traveling during the holidays. Sirens were heard in the Tel Aviv area early on Friday morning after a missile was launched at Israel from Yemen. Israel’s Defense Forces said they managed to intercept the missile before it entered Israeli airspace. This comes after Israeli forces conducted airstrikes on military targets used by the Houthi terrorist group in Yemen, including at Sana’a International Airport.
