President-elect trump spoke out against the massive government funding package that’s making last minute demands on congressional republicans. Trump is looking to raise the debt ceiling, which currently stands at 36-trillion dollars. If a deal is not passed before Friday midnight, then there could be the possibility of a government shutdown. NTD’s Congressional Correspondent Melina Wisecup updates us on what’s happening on the hill.

Natalie Rupnow opened fire at a private christian school in Madison, Wisconsin on Monday killing two and wounding six others. The names of the student and teacher who were shot and killed have been released by the local medical examiner. 14-year-old Rubi Vergara, and 42-year-old Erin Michelle West were pronounced dead at the scene.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul said she’s ready to do “whatever it takes to hold the killer accountable” in the UnitedHealthcare CEO murder case. The suspect in that case, Luigi Mangione, is scheduled to appear in a Pennsylvania court Thursday morning for an extradition hearing. Mangione’s attorney said Wednesday that the 26-year-old suspect is expected to waive his right to fight extradition in court Thursday in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania judge must approve the waiver or proceed with a hearing Thursday morning, following a separate session on Mangione’s local charges.
