President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump will meet on Wednesday at the White House on Biden’s invitation. The two will meet in the Oval Office at 11 a.m. that day, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement on Saturday. Trump also announced the formation of a committee to plan and celebrate his inauguration on January 20.
Republicans appear close to clinching control of the U.S. House of Representatives. With votes still being counted from the Nov. 5 general election, Republicans had won 212 seats in the 435-member chamber, according to projections by Edison Research, which projected on Friday night that Republican Jeff Hurd had enough votes to keep control of Colorado’s 3rd congressional district.
