Leigh Mcgowan, host and creator of PoliticsGirl and author of “A Return to Common Sense,” talks about the goal of her new book: to make learning about how U.S. politics actually works more accessible—and entertaining. She told NTD’s Chris Bob, “I think a lot of people, by no fault of their own, don’t really understand how our government works.”
Mcgowan also touched on the inspiration behind her book’s name, Thomas Paine’s pamphlet, “Common Sense,” and how both were written at times where the nation was at a crossroads.
