The Israeli airforce struck about 30 Hezbollah rocket-launching sites in Lebanon on Thursday night, with the IDF claiming to have knocked out 150 rocket launcher barrels that were ready to fire into Israel. The Hezbollah terrorist organization retaliated in the early hours of Friday morning by launching around 140 rockets into Israel.

The strikes followed two targeted attacks in Lebanon earlier this week—which have not been claimed by Israel—in which at least 37 people were killed and hundreds injured after thousands of Hezbollah’s pagers and walkie-talkies exploded. Hezbollah has vowed to retaliate for those attacks, but the question remains of whether it possesses missile capabilities that could even cause significant damage to Israel.

NTD speaks to Avi Melamed, a former Israeli intelligence officer, who discusses the next steps and possibilities in the conflict in the Middle East.
