Mike Tyson’s much-anticipated boxing match against Jake Paul, which was recently postponed after the former heavyweight champion suffered a medical emergency, has been rescheduled for Friday, Nov. 15.
Tyson, who will turn 58 by the fight date, experienced an episode of nausea and dizziness due to an ulcer flare-up roughly 30 minutes before landing in California on May 27.
Netflix, initially set to livestream the face-off on July 20, announced last week that the fight would be rescheduled because Tyson’s recent health scare had limited the 57-year-old’s ability to train for the match.
“I am thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP (Most Valuable Promotions), Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best reschedule date for all parties,” Tyson said in a statement on June 7.
“While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight,” he added. “Jake Paul is getting knocked out.”
The fight will still be held at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas—one of the largest indoor stadiums in the world and home to the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
Already bought tickets will be honored for Nov. 15. People who already own tickets but cannot attend the rescheduled date are eligible for a refund at their original point of purchase until July 8.
“Our team has worked diligently with all parties involved to reschedule this monumental fight to a date that ensures both Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are fully prepared, with equal training time, as well as allowing us to keep the event at AT&T stadium in the midst of the Cowboys season,” MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said in a statement.
Paul Versus Tyson
The Tyson versus Paul matchup has been sanctioned as a professional boxing match by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations. The fight will be contested over eight two-minute rounds with 14-ounce gloves and no headgear.
Paul, a 27-year-old social media influencer-turned-boxer, has won nine of his 10 fights, mostly against former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighters. His one loss was against British boxer Tommy Fury, the brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

On June 1, he said in a video on the social media platform X that he was “heartbroken” when he heard the fight would be postponed, but wished his opponent well saying he values Tyson’s health “first and foremost” and has “so much respect” for him.
“My fans know I don’t want to face Iron Mike at anything but his best, but let there be no mistake—when he steps into the ring with me, I will be ready to claim my W with a sensational finish,” Paul told Netflix.
Tyson, nicknamed “Iron Mike” and “Kid Dynamite” in his early career, retired in 2005 after winning 50 fights, 44 of them by knockout.
The boxing legend reigned as the undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990 and is arguably one of the greatest boxers of all time.
He last stepped into the ring when he took on Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition bout at Staples Center in Los Angeles in November 2020.
In addition, the event’s rematch between Ireland’s Katie Taylor and Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano has also been rescheduled for Nov. 15.
