The unveiling of Mongolia’s 2024 Olympic uniforms at the Michelle & Amazonka store has captivated Ulaanbaatar residents and a global audience. Designed by Nyamkhand Choigaalaa and her partner, these uniforms integrate traditional Mongolian garments like the “deel” with modern techniques.

Ms. Choigaalaa, who also designed the Mongolian uniforms for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, emphasized showcasing Mongolia’s ethnic heritage by incorporating elements such as the parade of Nine White Banners and cultural motifs, through intricate embroidery that represents Mongolia’s history and natural beauty.

In Ulaanbaatar, the country’s capital, residents expressed pride and admiration for the new uniforms. Forty-four-year-old Tsenguun Tumurtseren praised the integration of the Mongolian national garment, the deel, with a modern touch and supported the designers’ efforts to gain global recognition.

The uniforms have also impressed social media users worldwide, making a significant impact ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony on July 26.
