A June 28 report by the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General exposed how overwhelm at the border led to the release of a suspected terrorist. Inter-agency communications broke down because in some cases, agents simply didn’t have time to respond to emails fast enough. The suspect was apprehended again two weeks after his release.
