Microsoft is investing $1.5 billion dollars in United Arab Emirates-based artificial intelligence firm G42, allowing the two to deepen ties amid the global battle for tech dominance.
Based in Abu Dhabi, G42 runs data centers in the Middle East, and has increasingly identified itself as an AI firm.
As part of the deal, G42 will run its AI applications on Microsoft’s cloud, and the two companies will work to bring digital infrastructure to countries in the Middle East.
