President Emmanuel Macron’s recent unveiling of plans for legislation permitting assisted dying in France has ignited a fierce debate. Macron, in an interview with La Croix and Libération, outlined the proposed bill, which imposes strict eligibility criteria, restricting assisted dying to adults suffering from incurable, life-threatening illnesses and experiencing unmanageable pain. NTD spoke with Ludivine de la Rochère, president of the Family Union, arguing that it effectively legalizes assisted suicide and euthanasia.
