The Iranian regime’s direct attack on Israel has drawn condemnation from world leaders and is threatening to push the Middle East into a wider regional conflict.
Iran fired approximately 180 ballistic missiles at targets across Israel, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has indicated that Israel will retaliate. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the attack was in retaliation to the killing of the Hezbollah terror group’s leader Hassan Nasrallah and an Iranian general last week, as well as the alleged assassination of the Hamas terror group’s political leader, Ismail Haniyeh, in the Iranian capital Tehran in July.
The Iranian regime said its strikes were limited to military infrastructure, including airbases and buildings used by Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency. It also warned of broader strikes if Israel retaliates.
