Some people believe that President Donald Trump is the reincarnation of General George Patton.
Although it’s hard to prove one way or the other, there’s still a striking resemblance between the two. They also share some of the same mottoes, like: “think big” and “be a winner.”
Trump looked up to Patton and often mentioned him as the source of inspiration for his famous campaign slogan, “make America great again.”
Trump’s speech in Millington, TN on Feb 27, 2016:
“We don’t win honestly. We don’t win anymore. We don’t win at any level, with trade, with military. We can’t beat ISIS. Can you imagine telling General George Patton, we can’t beat ISIS? General Patton and General MacArthur, they are right now spinning in their graves. They don’t get it. We’re going knock-out of ISIS.”
While giving his Celebrate Freedom speech, Trump made reference to General Patton again.
“In every struggle against evil throughout our history, as America’s service members have huddled around campfires and sought refuge in fox holes, they’ve called on their Creator for support. In World War II, when General George Patton… Back when Patton ran into a problem he couldn’t solve, he knew what to do. He prayed. Frustrated by rains that were stalling the advance of his Third Army across Europe in early December, 1944, Patton asked an army Chaplain to come up with a good prayer for the weather. Patton then had a quarter million copies of that prayer printed and distributed to the soldiers of the Third Army, just before the Battle of the Bulge. That was a big one.”
Now General Patton may rest in peace. ISIS has been continuously losing ground in both Syria and Iraq, as the battle for Mosul nears its end.
The President might not buy into the reincarnation idea, but surely he wouldn’t mind if it was true!
He said, “In World War II, when General George Patton, that was a real general. We got some Pattons today too. ”
