IOC Looks Into Chinese Athletes’ Mao Pins

At the Tokyo Olympics, two Chinese medalists appeared on the podium wearing pins that featured the head of Mao Zedong. Mao is China’s former leader. He’s responsible for tens of millions of deaths through his political suppression campaign and policies that caused massive famine.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Tuesday asked the Chinese team for a report on the issue.
