NY’s ‘Sanctuary City’ and ‘Right-to-Shelter’ Polices Clashing as Numbers Rocket: Expert

A new report says that New York City is now sheltering more illegal immigrants than homeless people. New York’s Sanctuary City status and Right-to-Shelter policy mean the city is on the hook for housing residents who cannot, or will not, support themselves. Michele Steeb is a senior fellow at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, and oversees the Foundation’s initiative to transform national and state homelessness policy. She joined NTD to discuss this issue.
