The IDF has discovered the largest tunnel system yet in Gaza at over 2.5 miles long, 50 yards deep, and wide enough for a car—and all this mere hundreds of feet from the border to Israel.
That’s according to Israel Defense Forces spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, who decried the Hamas terrorist group for spending all of its efforts since coming to power in 2006 on terrorism and preparing for terrorist attacks, while neglecting utterly the plight of the people of Gaza.
“The amount of energy and money just goes to show that this is the most expensive, expansive construction project ever to exist in the Gaza Strip. Not for the benefit of the people of Gaza, but to the detriment of the people of Gaza—only to serve terrorism,” he said.
