“’Whites are essentially oppressive. And people of color are essentially oppressed and have the vantage point that should be consulted.’ But on the other hand, you find critical race theory, philosophers, and others saying things like it’s all socially constructed. So whiteness is socially constructed, and blackness is socially constructed. So we could deconstruct them and reconstruct them,” says Doug Groothuis, a Christian author and professor at Denver Seminary.
Groothuis joins me to talk about his new book, “Fire in the Streets.” We discuss the ideologies behind the 2020 riots, critical race theory, Marxism, and how the founding principles and religion can guide us through the dark days.
