At a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on unaccompanied minors at the border on Oct. 25, Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) questioned the four federal officials testifying before the committee—representing the Departments of State, Homeland Security, Health and Human Services, and Labor—on the number, whereabouts, etc., of the millions of illegal immigrants who have entered the United States on the basis of claims of asylum during the Biden administration. The witnesses were either unwilling or unable to answer most of his questions.
“How many were children?” Sen. Kennedy asked. “Does anybody know? None of you know. Isn’t that special?”
