Hundreds of refrigerated dipping sauces are being recalled over potential mold growth, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Lunds & Byerlys, a family-owned supermarket chain, voluntarily recalled around 500 containers of its L&B Lone Star Dip, the FDA published on Friday.

Over 25 Lunds & Byerlys stores throughout Twin Cities, Minnesota, and surrounding areas sold the recalled sauce, the agency said. Store employees first noticed the possible mold contamination and informed the company’s Quality Assurance team.

The impacted fresh dip is 12 oz. in size and has a UPC of 18169-74197, with an Oct. 15 or 17 best-by date.

“No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this recall,” the statement read.

Any customers who recently bought the L&B Lone Star Dip “are encouraged to return it to any Lunds & Byerlys for a full refund (no receipt required) or destroy the product immediately,” the FDA said.

According to the Lunds & Byerlys website, the product is made with cream cheese, salsa, fresh lemon juice, and tarragon.

The dip is best used on sandwiches, wraps or Lunds & Byerlys tortilla chips, the website recommends.
