Congress to Address Motion to Vacate Speaker, Foreign Aid Bills, Impeachment Inquiry After Recess

Congress is on a two-week recess. Once lawmakers return on April 9, they will have to address an impeachment inquiry, a motion to vacate the House speaker, and foreign aid to Ukraine and Israel.

The motion to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is not yet active, but once Congress reconvenes, it could take only 48 hours to force a vote on the House floor.

Mr. Johnson is expected to put Ukraine and Israel aid to vote on the House floor as standalone bills, the details of which are still not known.

Mr. Johnson is also expected to send articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to the Senate.
