For Americans living on the Texas–Mexico border, their lives have changed dramatically with the surge in migrants illegally crossing the border into their backyards. NTD’s Life & Times went to the border to follow the migrants’ journey, the authorities who capture them, an economist who studies them, and a deputy sheriff who searches for the remains of those who don’t survive the crossing.
Some say there’s a crisis at the southern border of the United States, some say illegal immigration is out of control, and others fear drug or human smuggling. Some say there’s no problem at all.
So what is happening at the border? We decided to go there and see it for ourselves.
Hosted by award-winning documentary filmmaker and author Kay Rubacek, Life & Times travels the nation to bring you the hopeful stories behind the biggest news of today.
