Irish businessman Declan Ganley is venturing into space. His new company Rivada Space Networks has a new project to provide fast internet via space to business customers.
There will be a constellation of 600 satellites in low earth orbit and connected with each other by laser to provide fast and secure internet.
The service targets mostly government and corporate customers, like telecom, maritime, and energy companies.
The satellites will be up in 2024, with full deployment expected by mid-2028.
Elon Musk’s Starlink and UK government-owned OneWeb are the two major players in this space, which already have satellites in space. Amazon’s Project Kuiper is getting ready to launch.
