Fugitive Chinese billionaire Guo Wengui and former White House adviser Steve Bannon said on Wednesday that they plan to establish a “New Federal State of China.”
On Thursday, the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre, a video posted by Guo showed a well-known Chinese sports star, Hao Haidong, calling for the removal of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
The 50-year-old was a national soccer star in the 1990s and 2000s and is a former member of the regime’s military.
In a video, Hao read a manifesto in Chinese. In it, he said “eliminating the Chinese Communist Party is a matter of justice.”
He denounced the CCP as a “terrorist organization,” accusing it of unleashing the virus on the world and criticizing it for cracking down on Hong Kong’s pro-democracy movement.
The video is blocked in China—but it still made its way into the country.
