SpaceX will be taking off from California and not returning. Founder Elon Musk will be moving his headquarters for the aerospace company and his social media company X to Texas. Mr. Musk said his announcement was spurred by a new California law, which he called the “last straw.”

Even the possibility of tension in Taiwan can impact the market. In a recent interview, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Taiwan should pay the United States for defense. The comment sent shares for the world’s largest contract chipmaker in Taiwan down.

Day one of Amazon Prime Day pulled in $7.2 billion in U.S. sales, according to Adobe Analytics. And shoppers are projected to spend roughly $14 billion total over the two-day deal event—a record-high.
