Black Friday Promises Deals Aplenty at Amazon, Walmart, and Target

Black Friday, the year’s biggest shopping event, is still weeks away, but major retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Target are already rolling out early deals and sales.

This year, holiday sales are projected to reach nearly $1 trillion—a 3.5 percent increase over last year, according to the National Retail Federation.

Amazon: Early Deals and Prime Perks

Amazon‘s Black Friday Week 2024 runs from 12:00 a.m. on Nov. 21 to 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 2, covering both Black Friday (Nov. 29) and Cyber Monday (Dec. 2).

“The holidays are a time to gather with loved ones, make memories, and create traditions,” said Carmen Nestares Pleguezuelo, vice president of North America marketing & Prime Tech at Amazon, in a press release.

Customers can expect major discounts across categories, including electronics, toys, home goods, and fashion, the company says. Early deals are already live, offering shoppers savings ahead of the main event.

Highlighted deals:

  • Up to 55 percent off Amazon devices like Fire Smart TVs, Kindles, and Ring doorbells
  • Up to 50 percent off Beats headphones, Levi’s denim products, and Orolay apparel
  • Up to 50 percent off Christmas trees from National Tree Company and Puleo
  • Up to 40 percent off holiday products from Hallmark, American Greetings, and Lenox.

Amazon Prime members will also receive other perks, including up to 50 percent off select grocery items and free delivery on eligible orders.

Walmart: Holiday Shopping Begins Nov. 11

Walmart launched its holiday shopping season on Nov. 11 with thousands of online Black Friday deals.

Walmart+ members get exclusive early access starting at 12:00 p.m. EST, while all customers can shop from 5:00 p.m. EST.

Deals include savings of up to 70 percent on cookware, beauty products, toys, clothing, and more. Some of the top deals include:

  • Lego Creator Expert Winter Village Fire Station Building Set
  • Primo Deluxe Bottom Load Black and Stainless Water Dispenser
  • Keurig K-Express Essentials Matte Black Coffee Maker
  • Gotham Steel Nonstick Pots and Pans, 10-Piece Set Ceramic Cookware
  • Ophanie Orthopedic Dog Bed for Large Dogs
  • Sunbeam Weighted Blanket
  • Beats Solo3 Wireless On-Ear Headphones
  • Miko Air Purifier for Large Rooms of up to 770 square feet

Target: Weekly Deals Through the Holiday Season

Target’s weekly holiday deals run from Nov. 3 to Dec. 24. Deals include:

  • Up to 50 percent off floor care and headphones
  • Up to 30 percent off baby gear and select home decor
  • Up to 50 percent off headphones

Target said it will price-match items if their price drops later in the season or if a competitor offers a lower price within 14 days of purchase.

Target stores will be closed on Thanksgiving, but will open at 6:00 a.m. local time on Black Friday (Nov. 29). From Nov. 30 through Dec. 23, stores will operate extended opening hours from 7:00 a.m. to midnight.

“We know consumers have a lot of choices when it comes to holiday shopping, so we’re leaning into what Target does best—great products, great prices, and a shopping experience that’s easy and fun,” said Rick Gomez, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Target.
