President Joe Biden and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto met in person for the first time since Prabowo was inaugurated.
The meeting was reportedly to celebrate the 75th anniversary of U.S.–Indonesian relations and pay tribute to those affected by the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami, as well as explore ways to strengthen U.S.–Indonesian cooperation.
They discussed topics including the supply chain and the South China Sea, according to Biden.
