Students recalled their experiences when Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, was locked down during a shooting on Wednesday.
“My teacher, she went to go lock the door when she saw ‘Hard Lockdown,’ she shut the windows. She just told us to go to the back of the classroom because she wasn’t sure what was going on,” said Layla Ferrell, a junior at the school.
Julie Sandoval, another junior, said she was crying and texting her parents as she hid with fellow students.
