Beijing has reportedly detained a Chinese citizen on spying charges. According to The Guardian, 50-year-old Emily Chen once worked in administration for an American company. Her husband is a U.S. citizen, and she has been missing since she went back to China on a trip.
Jon Pelson, author of “Wireless Wars,” told NTD that China’s new anti-espionage law could put people at risk of violating the rules for “anything involving national interest or the honor of the country.”
“I think anyone who’s setting foot in that country to do business or anything else is putting themselves in jeopardy,” Mr. Pelson said.
