The Independence Day on July 4 is of great significance not just for Americans, but for freedom-loving people around the world. NTD spoke with Orlando Gutiérrez-Boronat, secretary general of the Assembly of the Cuban Resistance, a coalition of human rights groups inside and outside Cuba. An award-winning author with a doctorate in the philosophy of international studies, Mr. Gutiérrez-Boronat expressed his gratitude to the United States for providing a home to many Cubans who escaped persecution at the hands of the communist regime in Cuba.
